Acadia, here I come!

Posted on August 14, 2009

Only 4 more weeks until I head north for a week of paddling, hiking, and biking in Acadia National Park.  Let the trip planning begin!  The current plan is to hit the road bright and early on September 11th and find some place to camp around Gloucester, Massachusetts by late afternoon.  That should allow some time to find a campground, get set up, and maybe even do a bit of exploring.  This should leave about 5 hours of driving Saturday morning and arriving in Acadia some time after lunch.  I’m hoping to get a nice site at Bar Harbor Campground which is only about 4 miles from the town of Bar Harbor.  If anybody has any experience at this campground – or any other recommendations, I’d love to hear from you.
